Privacy Policy

Introduction

A founding principle of SimpleTerms is that consumers should not be presented with terms and conditions that are overly complex and hard to understand.  So, we want to avoid any jargon and  make our Privacy Policy as straightforward as possible.

What is a Privacy Policy?

Any responsible business should state clearly what types of information about you they are capturing.  This might include your name, contact details or financial information.  A business should state how they are using that data and what security policies are in place to keep that data safe.

What is Personal Data in the context of SimpleTerms?

In almost all cases, your full name and email address are the only pieces of personal data that we ever use.  We capture this information when you register for an account.

The Details

The remainder of this Privacy Policy covers:

  • What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the SimpleTerms application, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.

  • What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.

  • The security procedures SimpleTerms has in place to protect your information.

  • How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Personal Data: Collection, Use, and Sharing

We only collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, website form submission (ie. account registration) or other direct contact with you.  We will not sell or rent this information to anyone without your permission. We, SimpleTerms Inc., are the sole owners of any information collected on the SimpleTerms website and application.

We will use your Personal Data to provide you with the services we offer or to respond to other communications you submit to us through our website or application. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as needed to fulfil your request.  For example, on your request, we may use your contact details to obtain additional support or help you through a problem.

We do, however, work with certain third parties to both operate SimpleTerms and to fulfil your requests. These third parties could include individual contractors, databases or software providers. For example, like most other businesses today, we use a third-party service to host our website and store all of our account data rather than having all of that run from servers that we own and operate.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about company updates, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

At any time, you may ask us to remove your account and opt-out of any future contact from us.  Just shoot us an email at accounts@simpleterms.ai with your name and the email address associated with your account.

You can request any of the following by contacting accounts@simpleterms.ai:

  1. See what data we have about you, if any.

  2. Change/correct any data we have about you.

  3. Have us delete any data we have about you.

  4. Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security

We do take precautions to protect your Personal Data by implementing security best practices both when data is being transmitted and stored. When you submit your name and email address when registering an account, your information is protected both on our websites and on the systems we store your data outside of the site.
